idkjack & ylm shwty met online at the end of 2020 and created a few hip-hop singles such as Dangerous and another love song, and found that their styles and passion for music was instantly matched. From there, both artists carried on making songs together and developed a strong relationship that was showcased by the music they made. idkjack being from England, and ylm shwty living in Denmark, the two come from very different backgrounds. Despite this, they found a lot similarities within their life, making it easy for them to connect with each other and make music they love. They released their first major single together in 2021, Meant to be, and with both artists having a very small audience, they didn’t expect the song to gain the attention it did.
Meant to be got onto nine Spotify Editorials, like ‘New Music Friday UK’ and ‘Fresh Finds’, resulting in the song reaching over 200, 000 streams on Spotify within the first couple of months of its release. From this, idkjack and ylm shwty gained the confidence and drive to develop their careers into a partnership, and have been channelling many different genres such as pop, rock, hip-hop, and punk.
With big plans together for the future, the duo hope to carry on releasing music together, and to surpass all of their goals within their careers.
